By commissioning me, you are agreeing to these terms. If you do not agree with these terms, then I cannot provide you with this service.

Communication

Throughout the development, we can communicate with each other to discuss progress or any changes to be made before completion.

I will always be transparent with you during the development process and I will try to respond to any enquiries as soon as possible.

Denial of service

I can deny service for whatever reason I see fit.

Some examples could be:

  • Your idea is out of my skill-set
  • I deem your idea to be inappropriate
  • Your communication is impolite/aggressive

Pricing

Each piece of software will have varying levels of complexity, with some requiring more work than others.

My current rate is £18/hour.

We will agree on a price before any work begins.

Price changes during development

If you wish to change something about the software, I may increase the price.

If the software early in development and/or the adjustment is small then I may not increase the price. If the change requires a quantity of work I consider to be significant, then I will request extra pay.

If software ends up being more complicated than originally anticipated, I may also request a price increase to make up for the extra work I will have to put in. I will notify you if this happens and explain my reasoning.

If you deny paying for the additional work, I may, at my own discretion, choose to discontinue.

Post-development

After development if you wish to change something or add more features, this will require more work and so I will ask for another payment which will be proportional to the work required.

Payment

We can arrange a payment method which is convenient for both of us. This will be decided upon before work begins.

If I am too sceptical of your choice of payment method, then I will ask for another method, or deny work.

You must provide at least a 25% deposit of the agreed upon price before I start work. You can, if you wish, pay the agreed price in full. Once completed, you must pay the remaining quantity before I provide access to/release the software.

The remaining price must be paid within 30 days of completion. If you fail to pay within this time, then I will charge an extra 3% interest on the remaining debt every 30 days.

Refunds

If I discontinue work on my own accord, such as not having the time or the motivation to continue, I will refund you in full since this is entirely on me.

If the software is discontinued for any other reason, such as you being unwilling to pay for a price increase or a deterioration in communication, then I may only offer a partial refund. This is because I may have already dedicated a large quantity of my time.

Licensing

Everything I develop will be released under a license of my choosing (as it is my own work). This will typically be an open source license. If you wish for a specific license to be used, or for the software to be kept proprietary, you must tell me and I will, within reason, use your license of choice instead.
